Biotechnology in Geotechnical Engineering
2 and 3 September 2025

The sessions of BGE are organized in parallel to EUNSAT2025 aiming to be the embryo of a new series of conferences on this topic. 

Participants outside unsaturated soils technical community are mostly welcome, having the 2 days registration option. 

The papers of EUNSAT2025 on the topics of BGE will be selected to be presented in BGE sessions. 

All BGE papers will be published as a chapter of the digital proceedings of EUNSAT2025, named as BGE.

A Summer course on BGE topics is also predicted, mainly conceived for PhD students. The registration fee in the course is reduced 50% for participants already registered at EUNSAT2025+BGE or at BGE.

Summer course

A summer course on BGE topics is predicted in the morning of 2nd September, mainly targeting PhD and MSc students.

The preliminary program includes numerical modeling of bio-hydro-mechanical coupled phenomena, soil suction measurements, plants and roots growth, biological details on bacterial growth and survival, etc.

The minimum number of participants for the course is 10.
