Instructions for Authors
Abstracts on any topic related to unsaturated soils and rock mechanics are welcome, covering topics on traditional geotechnical engineering applications, sustainability in Geotechnical Engineering, environmental problems (engineered barriers to protect the environment, the reuse of waste materials, tailings and mine waste, etc), climate stresses under climate change scenario, energy geotechnics, historic sites, geo-education and bio-inspired technologies in Geotechnics (nature-based solutions, root reinforcement, bio-cementation, fungi reinforcement, hydrophobic materials, among others).
Authors outside unsaturated soils community are welcome to
present their papers on Biotechnology on Geotechnical Engineering.
Case studies and practical cases are mostly welcome.
Proceedings
Conference proceedings will be submitted for Scopus. indexation and
available for public access in the Web by the end of September 2025.
BGE papers will be published as a chapter of EUNSAT2025 proceedings.
Submission will be done through Easychair platform. The templates for the papers and copyright forms will be available soon.

PAPER SUBMISSION
Template for the paper
The papers should have 6 pages maximum. Please submit
the first version preferentially in pdf format.
Registration
For paper acceptance and publishing, EUNSAT2025 participants must register for 3 days (option EUNSAT+BGE) and are free to join any sessions of EUNSAT2025 and BGE. Registration in the summer course is not included.
The participants only in BGE outside unsaturated soils community may register for 2 days (option BGE). BGE will start after lunch on Tuesday (lunch that day not included in the registration). In the first day of EUNSAT2025 conference (1st September), these participants will only have access to the welcome reception. Registration in the summer course is not included.
The registration in the Summer course in the morning of 2nd September is done separately. Please check the information on BGE and Summer Course.
Each full registration participant will be able
to submit up to two conference papers.
Each student participant will be able to submit one conference paper.
- ISSMGE members will be required to provide their ISSMGE membership number during registration. The Portuguese members of SPG and OE are in this category as well, also being required to provide their membership number.
- Students will be required to provide proof of enrolment or valid certificate of student status (Master and PhD students).
- The registration in the Summer course is not included in any option.
- Early bird registration: 31st May 2025.
- Registration
in the banquet can be done separately, both for participants and accompanying people.
- Full refund
(except 50€ for management costs) can be granted only until 30th June under exceptional
circumstances and after being arranged directly with the organizers by e-mail to info@eunsat2025.tecnico.ulisboa.pt
